Why Rock and Soul Is My Favorite Record Store

If you know, you know.

Rock and Soul on 37th and 6th in NYC  is one of those places that feels like it’s been part of the culture forever. The first time I walked in, I felt like I was stepping into history. Walls lined with vinyl. Bins you can spend hours flipping through. That quiet excitement when you spot something you weren’t even looking for.

What I love most is the mix. Hip hop, R&B, classics, and new releases all in one place. Whether I’m looking for something specific or just browsing, I always find something that fits my collection.

Streaming is convenient, but crate digging hits different. Taking the time to flip through records makes the music feel more meaningful.

Rock and Soul is more than a store for me. It’s part of how I fell deeper into collecting.
